3-Dimension Reconstruction
In this project, an object is scanned by a laser
beam while the process is observed by a CCD camera.
3D images are then reconstructed on a computer memory and
three dimensional measurements with good level of accuracy can be
carried out. Images below, show some 3D reconstructed images
corresponding to automobile parts which were 3D-measured using this
system. Please, understand that images below are not photographs,
they are objects which have been constructed on a computer memory.
The project was based on B-Spline curves which were able to give more
precision to the curve shapes. Several objects were measured with
good accuracy. Programs were developed in C++ and images
below were produced using MatLab 6.0.
